Job Overview
We are recruiting an experienced Band 6 Specialist Musculoskeletal (MSK) Physiotherapist to join NELFT, based at Harold Wood Polyclinic, Havering, within the North East London NHS. This community-based locum role sits within an MSK programme delivery service, providing assessment, treatment, and onward management for adult patients with musculoskeletal conditions. The role requires a confident MSK clinician who can manage a caseload independently while contributing to high-quality, accessible community MSK services.
Key Responsibilities

- Manage a caseload of adult MSK patients within a community setting.
- Undertake comprehensive MSK assessments and deliver evidence-based treatment interventions.
- Formulate management plans, including onward referral to appropriate services where required.
- Complete clinical administration accurately and efficiently, ensuring high-quality record keeping.
- Use the RIO clinical system to document assessments, treatment plans, and outcomes.
- Communicate effectively with patients and colleagues via telephone, email, and written correspondence.
- Contribute to the effective delivery of the MSK programme and service objectives.
About You
You are an experienced MSK Physiotherapist with strong clinical reasoning and the ability to manage a community caseload autonomously. You are confident using digital clinical systems and bring excellent communication skills to support patient engagement and multidisciplinary working. Your structured and organised approach supports safe, effective, and timely MSK care.
Requirements

- Degree in Physiotherapy and current HCPC registration.
- Post-qualification experience as a Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist.
- Essential experience using RIO clinical systems.
- Desirable experience with e-referrals.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including telephone and email.
- Good IT skills, including confidence using Microsoft Excel.
