Tripod Partners are recruiting an experienced Senior Occupational Therapist for a locum opportunity within Berkshire Social Services. Working with the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead, this role focuses on delivering outcome-focused occupational therapy assessments and interventions for adults with physical disabilities and age-related conditions.

The successful candidate will provide professional Occupational Therapy and Reablement services, supporting individuals to maximise independence, promote recovery, and achieve positive outcomes. The role includes senior-level responsibilities, multidisciplinary working, and supporting safe and timely hospital discharges.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive occupational therapy assessments for adults with physical disabilities and age-related needs.
• Deliver professional Occupational Therapy and Reablement services, including statutory social care responsibilities.
• Develop person-centred, strengths-based intervention plans that promote independence and recovery.
• Support individuals to achieve agreed outcomes and maximise their ability to live independently.
• Undertake assessments for equipment, adaptations, moving and handling, and rehabilitation needs.
• Work collaboratively with health, social care, housing, and community partners to address complex needs.
• Support safe and timely hospital discharges in partnership with health colleagues.
• Provide professional advice and guidance to service users, carers, and colleagues.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation in accordance with professional and organisational standards.
• Contribute to service development and provide senior-level support within the team.

About You

You will be an experienced Occupational Therapist with a strong background in 
adult social care, rehabilitation, and reablement services. You will have experience managing complex cases and supporting individuals with physical disabilities and age-related conditions.

You will demonstrate excellent assessment, clinical reasoning, and communication skills, alongside the ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams to achieve the best possible outcomes for service users and carers.

Requirements

• Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy.
• Current HCPC registration.
• Significant experience within adult social care, rehabilitation, or reablement services.
• Experience working with adults with physical disabilities and older people.
• Knowledge of relevant social care legislation and statutory responsibilities.
• Experience supporting hospital discharge pathways and community-based interventions.
• Strong assessment, report-writing, and case management skills.
• Ability to manage complex cases and work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
• Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
