Qualified Social Worker – Adults’ Services (Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council)

Job Overview

We are recruiting a dedicated **Qualified Social Worker (QSW)** to join **Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council’s Adults’ Services team**. In this role, you will support adults with a range of care and support needs, ensuring they are safeguarded, empowered, and able to live independently wherever possible.

You will carry out statutory assessments, manage complex caseloads, and work in partnership with individuals, families, and multi-agency teams to deliver safe, effective, and person-centred support.

Key Responsibilities

– Complete Care Act 2014 assessments to identify needs, strengths, and risks. – Develop and implement personalised care and support plans in collaboration with adults and carers. – Lead safeguarding enquiries and ensure robust risk management. – Undertake Mental Capacity Act assessments and contribute to best-interest decisions. – Prepare clear, evidence-based reports for panels, reviews, and court proceedings when required. – Work in partnership with health services, housing, and community organisations to deliver integrated care. – Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential records in line with professional standards and council policy. – Participate in reflective supervision, peer learning, and continuous service development.

About You

You are a committed and compassionate social worker with post-qualification experience in adults’ services. Skilled at managing complex cases, you bring sound professional judgement and a person-centred approach to your work. You thrive when collaborating with partners and are motivated to improve the lives of adults and their families.

Requirements

– Qualified Social Worker (QSW) with registration to **Social Work England**. – Post-qualification experience within **Adults’ Services**, including safeguarding and complex case management. – Strong understanding of the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act, and adult safeguarding procedures. – Excellent assessment, communication, and report-writing skills. – Ability to manage competing demands while maintaining best practice and a focus on outcomes.
