View JobBCP Council is committed to providing high-quality care and support to Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children (UASC), recognising their unique vulnerabilities and complex needs. We are seeking a compassionate and knowledgeable Qualified Social Worker to join the UASC team, supporting young people through care planning, immigration processes, and their transition to independence.
Key Responsibilities:

Undertake statutory assessments and planning: Complete Child in Need, Child Protection, and Looked After Children assessments tailored to the unique needs of asylum-seeking young people.

Support immigration and legal processes: Work in partnership with solicitors, UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI), and legal guardians to manage immigration status and documentation.

Promote trauma-informed care: Build trusting relationships and provide culturally sensitive, trauma-informed support that considers language barriers and past experiences.

Prepare for transitions: Help young people access education, accommodation, health services, and develop independence skills as they approach adulthood.
