Job Overview
We are recruiting an experienced Occupational Therapist to join a generic community Occupational Therapy service in Greenwich, within South East London Social Services. This locum role focuses on supporting adults in the community through functional assessment, moving and handling interventions, and adaptation recommendations. You will work with individuals in their own homes to promote independence, safety, and wellbeing, contributing to effective and timely community-based outcomes.
Key Responsibilities

- Undertake community-based occupational therapy assessments for adults with a range of functional needs.
- Carry out moving and handling assessments and develop safe, person-centred handling plans.
- Assess for and recommend equipment and home adaptations to support independence and reduce risk.
- Work collaboratively with service users, carers, and multidisciplinary colleagues across health, housing, and social care.
- Maintain accurate clinical records and complete professional reports in line with local authority and professional standards.
- Manage a varied community caseload, prioritising work effectively to meet service demand.
About You
You are a confident and adaptable Occupational Therapist with experience working in community or social care settings. You bring strong assessment and clinical reasoning skills, along with a practical, person-centred approach to supporting adults to live safely and independently. You are comfortable managing a generic caseload that includes moving and handling and adaptations work.
Requirements

- Degree or diploma in Occupational Therapy with current HCPC registration.
- Experience working in a community-based Occupational Therapy role.
- Skills in moving and handling assessments and equipment provision.
- Experience assessing for home adaptations is desirable.
- Strong communication, documentation, and organisational skills.
