This is an excellent opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children and families while working within a supportive, collaborative, and forward-thinking local authority.
As a Social Worker, you will play a vital role in assessing, planning, and delivering high-quality interventions that promote the safety, welfare, and long-term wellbeing of children and young people. You will work with families to build on their strengths, support positive change, and ensure that children are safeguarded and given the opportunity to thrive.

- Develop, implement, and review Child in Need, Child Protection, and Care Plans that promote safety, permanence, and positive outcomes.
- Work collaboratively with parents, carers, and partner agencies to support effective and coordinated interventions.
- Manage a varied caseload, balancing risk and protective factors to inform decision-making and planning.
- Prepare and present clear, evidence-based reports for court proceedings, case conferences, and reviews.
- Ensure that children’s voices and lived experiences are central to all assessments and planning.
- Contribute to reflective supervision, team learning, and service development initiatives.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records in accordance with local and national standards.
Requirements
- Essential qualification: Degree in Social Work (DipSW, CQSW, CSS, or equivalent).
- Registration: Registered with Social Work England.
- Post-qualifying experience in children’s social care, including safeguarding, assessment, and care planning.
- Strong understanding of child protection legislation, frameworks, and statutory guidance.
- Excellent communication, analysis, and report-writing skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a multi-agency environment and manage a demanding caseload.
- Commitment to strengths-based, trauma-informed, and child-centred practice.
