Join Gateshead Council to lead and conduct complex statutory assessments for children and families, ensuring compliance with legislation such as the Children Act 1989/2004.

Develop, implement, and review child-centred care and protection plans within Gateshead Council’s framework, promoting safety, wellbeing, and positive outcomes.

Manage a complex caseload while providing guidance, support, and informal supervision to junior social workers and trainees in Gateshead Council’s children’s services team.

Take a lead role in safeguarding processes for Gateshead Council, including attending strategy meetings, child protection conferences, and court proceedings.

Collaborate with multi-agency partners (health, education, police, and others) to ensure coordinated and effective support for children at risk as part of Gateshead Council’s integrated approach.
