View JobTrafford Council is looking for an experienced Locum Social Worker to join its Children in Need (CiN) Team. This role is essential in delivering statutory services to children and families requiring targeted support. The ideal candidate will have at least three years of post-qualified experience in safeguarding or children’s services, with a strong ability to assess risk, plan interventions, and engage with families to effect positive change.
Key Responsibilities:

Complete assessments under Section 17 of the Children Act 1989 to determine the level of support needed.

Develop and implement Child in Need and Child Protection plans to safeguard and promote child welfare.

Work closely with families, schools, health professionals, and other partners to coordinate services.

Prepare reports and present evidence at child protection conferences, strategy meetings, and court as required.

Maintain accurate case records and ensure compliance with Trafford Council policies and statutory frameworks.
