Job Overview
We are recruiting a dedicated **Qualified Social Worker (QSW)** to join **Bristol City Council’s Adults’ Services team**. This role is focused on supporting adults with a wide range of needs, safeguarding vulnerable individuals, and promoting independence and wellbeing in the community.
You will undertake statutory assessments, manage a complex caseload, and work closely with individuals, families, and partner agencies to deliver safe and person-centred care.
Key Responsibilities
Undertake Care Act 2014 assessments to identify needs, strengths, and risks.
Develop, implement, and review personalised care and support plans.
Lead safeguarding enquiries and ensure robust risk management.
Carry out Mental Capacity Act assessments and contribute to best-interest decisions.
Prepare clear, evidence-based reports for panels, reviews, and legal proceedings.
Work collaboratively with health services, housing, voluntary and community organisations to provide integrated support.
Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential case records in line with council policy and professional standards.
Contribute to reflective supervision, peer learning, and service development within Adults’ Services.
About You
You are a resilient and compassionate social worker with strong case management and safeguarding experience. You are confident working with adults and their families and committed to delivering high-quality, person-centred outcomes.
Requirements
Qualified Social Worker (QSW) with registration to **Social Work England**.
Post-qualification experience in Adults’ Services, including safeguarding and complex case management.
Strong knowledge of the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act, and adult safeguarding legislation.
Excellent assessment, communication, and report-writing skills.
Ability to manage complex caseloads while maintaining a person-centred approach.
