View JobLBBD Council is seeking a dedicated and experienced Independent Reviewing Officer to join our Children’s Services team. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in social work and current registration with Social Work England (SWE). This role is vital in ensuring that looked-after children receive the highest standard of care and advocacy.
Key Responsibilities:

Chair statutory review meetings for looked-after children, ensuring timely and effective care planning.

Monitor the progress of care plans and advocate for the best interests of children and young people.

Work collaboratively with social workers, carers, families, and partner agencies to support positive outcomes.

Ensure children’s voices are heard and integrated into decision-making processes.

Maintain accurate records and produce reports in compliance with statutory requirements.
Essential Requirements:
-
Minimum 3 years’ social work experience, preferably in children’s services.
-
Current and valid Social Work England (SWE) registration.
-
Strong understanding of relevant legislation, policies, and safeguarding procedures.
-
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
