East Riding of Yorkshire Council is looking for dedicated and experienced Child Protection Social Workers to join our frontline safeguarding teams. You will be working with children and families where there are significant concerns about abuse, neglect, or harm. The role is fast-paced, varied, and critical in securing positive outcomes for children at risk.
Key Responsibilities:

Undertake statutory assessments and Section 47 enquiries, identifying risk and ensuring timely safeguarding interventions.

Develop and implement child protection plans, working closely with families, professionals, and partner agencies.

Prepare clear, evidence-based reports for Child Protection Conferences, Court, and other statutory meetings.
-
Build trusting relationships with children and their families through direct work and a strengths-based, trauma-informed approach.
Requirements:
-
Qualified Social Worker with registration to Social Work England
-
Solid experience in child protection and safeguarding work
-
Strong knowledge of legislation including the Children Act 1989/2004 and Working Together to Safeguard Children
-
Excellent communication, assessment, and multi-agency working skills
