View JobBedford Borough Council is seeking an experienced and passionate Qualified Social Worker to join our Child Protection Team. This is a frontline role where you will manage complex caseloads, conduct safeguarding investigations, and support families in making sustainable changes to protect their children. Our model is built on restorative practice, collaborative partnerships, and ensuring the child’s voice is central to all decisions.
Key Responsibilities:

Undertake Section 47 enquiries, risk assessments, and child protection investigations in accordance with the Children Act 1989 and Working Together to Safeguard Children (2018).

Develop and implement effective child protection and safety plans through multi-agency collaboration and regular core group meetings.

Prepare high-quality reports for legal proceedings and child protection conferences, and provide evidence in court when necessary.

Maintain up-to-date case records and ensure compliance with statutory guidelines and Bedford’s social work practice standards.
