This vital role involves working collaboratively with professionals across agencies to assess safeguarding concerns and make informed decisions to protect vulnerable children. Candidates must have strong assessment skills, experience in frontline statutory services, and an ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:

Triage and assess referrals from professionals, agencies, and the public regarding concerns for children’s safety and welfare.

Work within a multi-agency setting alongside police, health, education, and other professionals.

Gather and analyse information to determine levels of risk and appropriate thresholds for intervention.

Make timely, evidence-based decisions and recommendations for further action, including strategy discussions or assessments.

Record all decisions clearly and accurately in line with Derbyshire Council’s policies and statutory guidelines.

Ensure all work complies with safeguarding legislation, local protocols, and best practice standards.
