Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is looking for qualified and experienced Band 6 and Band 7 Speech and Language Therapists to join the adult community and acute teams. These roles provide the opportunity to deliver high-quality care for adults with speech, language, communication, and swallowing (dysphagia) needs, while supporting service development and working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary environment.

  • Assess, diagnose, and manage adults with complex speech, language, communication, and swallowing (dysphagia) needs across community and acute settings.

  • Develop and implement evidence-based therapy programmes and care pathways to improve patient outcomes.

  • Work closely with the multidisciplinary team, patients, and carers to provide person-centred care.

  • Provide clinical supervision, mentorship, and support to junior therapists, therapy assistants, and students (with enhanced leadership responsibilities at Band 7).

  • Participate in audit, service evaluation, and quality improvement initiatives to maintain high standards of clinical practice.

  • Engage in continuing professional development, reflective practice, and research to enhance specialist knowledge and expertise.
