MSK Paediatric Physiotherapist – Band 7

Brief Job Overview / Introduction to Role

We are recruiting a Band 7 MSK Paediatric Physiotherapist to join the Central London Community Healthcare NHS Trust at Edgware Hospital. This ongoing locum role focuses on delivering specialist musculoskeletal outpatient physiotherapy services to children and young people aged 4–18, supporting those with musculoskeletal, orthopaedic, and rheumatological conditions.

Key Responsibilities

– Deliver and develop the Paediatric Musculoskeletal Outpatient Physiotherapy Service. – Manage an autonomous caseload of children and young people, including those with English as an additional language (EAL). – Work collaboratively with children, parents/carers, and colleagues across Health, Education, and Social Services to plan and deliver therapy programmes. – Provide clinical expertise, evidence-based practice, and support the ongoing development of the paediatric MSK and rheumatology services. – Educate and supervise less experienced members of the service. – Act as a key contact for the paediatric MSK and rheumatology services and represent the department at relevant internal and external meetings. – Support service management to maintain and develop high-quality physiotherapy services across the Borough of Barnet.

About You

– You are a highly skilled and autonomous paediatric physiotherapist with experience in MSK, orthopaedic, and rheumatology conditions. – Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with children, families, and multidisciplinary teams. – Ability to manage complex caseloads independently while maintaining clinical standards. – Experience providing clinical supervision and support to less experienced colleagues. – Committed to evidence-based practice and continuous professional development.

Requirements

– Registered Physiotherapist with the HCPC. – Minimum of 2 years’ experience in paediatric MSK physiotherapy or equivalent specialist experience. – Competent in delivering and developing outpatient physiotherapy services for children and young people. – Ability to work collaboratively with multi-agency teams. – Willingness to represent the service at meetings internally and externally. – Available to work 37.5 hours per week.
