About the Role

A Highly Specialist Paediatric Speech and Language Therapist (Band 7) is required to join the Children’s Therapies Community Service. This short-term locum role is expected to run until the second week of December (subject to change) and will involve delivering high-quality SLT interventions to children in a community setting.

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide highly specialist assessment and intervention for children with a range of communication needs.
  • Deliver community-based SLT services as part of the Children’s Therapies team.
  • Contribute to care planning, target setting, and progress reviews.
  • Work collaboratively with families, schools, early years settings, and the wider MDT.
  • Maintain accurate documentation in line with professional and Trust standards.

Skills & Experience

  • HCPC-registered Speech and Language Therapist.
  • Highly specialist paediatric experience.
  • Paediatric dysphagia experience with infants (desirable).
  • Strong communication, clinical reasoning, and partnership-working skills.

Working Hours

  • 5 days per week.
  • 7.5 hours per day plus a 30-minute unpaid lunch break.
