Tripod Partners are recruiting a Band 7 Occupational Therapist for a locum role within North West London NHS. This position focuses on delivering therapy to children and young people (CYP) with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) within mainstream educational settings.
The Occupational Therapist will provide structured blocks of therapy, supporting children with additional needs as they progress through primary education. The role involves assessment, planning, and delivery of therapy interventions, as well as working closely with school staff and families to support consistent and effective outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver blocks of occupational therapy to children and young people with EHCPs.
- Assess, plan, and implement therapy programmes within school and clinic settings.
- Support children transitioning from pre-school to primary school.
- Develop and review therapy goals, including completion of goal sheets and reports.
- Provide advice and contribute to annual reviews where required.
- Upskill school staff, parents, and carers to support ongoing therapy input.
- Work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams across education and health services.
- Manage a caseload effectively, with travel across the borough as required.
About You
You will be an experienced Paediatric Occupational Therapist with a strong background working with children aged 5–11 years who have additional needs. You will be confident delivering therapy within both school and clinic environments and supporting education staff to implement therapeutic strategies.
You will demonstrate strong clinical reasoning, organisational skills, and the ability to manage therapy programmes independently while contributing to multidisciplinary team working.
Requirements
- Recognised qualification in Occupational Therapy.
- Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
- Experience working with children and young people with additional needs.
- Experience delivering therapy within school and/or clinic settings.
- Ability to plan and deliver structured therapy programmes.
- Experience contributing to EHCP processes, including reviews and reporting.
- Strong communication and multidisciplinary working skills.
- Willingness to travel across the borough (car not required).

- Role: Occupational Therapist – Band 7

- Contract Type: Locum
- Contract Length: Initially 12 weeks
- Working Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week
- Schedule: 08:30 – 16:30
- Flexibility: Part-time or adjusted hours considered (e.g. 08:00–16:00 or 09:00–17:00)
- Salary: Negotiable
