Occupational Therapist – Housing (Locum)

  • Location: Royal Borough of Greenwich, South East London Social Services

Role Summary:

  • Provide professional Occupational Therapy support within the Housing team to improve accessibility and independence for people with disabilities.

  • Maximise availability and suitability of accessible housing for households in need.

  • Work collaboratively across services to ensure practical, person-centered solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess housing needs of people with disabilities and identify households most in need of accessible housing.

  • Match applicants to suitable properties as they become available.

  • Provide professional OT advice within the Disability and Home Improvement Service and other services as required.

  • Contribute to improving housing supply and quality for people with disabilities.

  • Offer practical, professional, and customer-focused solutions to housing-related matters referred to the team.

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Qualified and HCPC-registered Occupational Therapist.

  • Experience in Housing Occupational Therapy or similar roles.

  • Knowledge of accessibility standards and adaptations for people with disabilities.

  • Strong communication, assessment, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams and other services.

Working Hours:

  • Standard working hours within local authority services; flexible to service requirements.
