Job Overview
We are recruiting a dedicated Specialist Paediatric Physiotherapist (Band 6) to join the community Children’s Physiotherapy Service with Croydon Healthcare Services.
This part-time role (Thursdays and Fridays) focuses on delivering high-quality, child-centred physiotherapy across community settings, supporting children with musculoskeletal (MSK) and neurological needs.
You will work as an autonomous practitioner, carrying out assessments, treatment, and reviews in clinics, homes, nurseries, and schools — helping children achieve greater independence, mobility, and participation in daily life.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialist neurological and neurodevelopmental assessments and interventions for children referred to the service.
- Deliver physiotherapy support across community locations, including CHS facilities, homes, nurseries, and schools.
- Manage a varied caseload of paediatric MSK and neuro presentations, ensuring timely review and monitoring.
- Work collaboratively with families, carers, and education and health professionals to develop effective therapy plans.
- Contribute to multi-disciplinary discussions within the Integrated Children’s Physiotherapy Service.
- Maintain accurate and professional documentation in line with service standards and governance requirements.
- Promote best practice and evidence-based physiotherapy within paediatric community care.
About You
You will be a confident and compassionate Band 6 Paediatric Physiotherapist who enjoys working independently while being part of a supportive team. You will bring sound clinical reasoning, strong communication skills, and experience supporting children with MSK and neurological needs in community environments.
Requirements
- Qualified Physiotherapist with HCPC registration.
- Proven experience working as a Paediatric Physiotherapist at Band 6 level.
- Clinical experience across Paediatric MSK and Neuro casework.
- Comfortable working autonomously across community settings.
- Car owner/driver (essential for travel across sites).
- Strong documentation and organisational skills.
- Commitment to safe, family-centred practice.
Contract & Salary
- Part time: Thursdays and Fridays only
- Locum contract – ongoing
- Competitive rate (£negotiable)
- Community-based role with Croydon Healthcare Services
