Brief Job Overview
Tripod Partners are recruiting a Band 6 Physiotherapist for a locum role within Merseyside NHS. This position sits within an acute hospital setting, supporting patients with a range of conditions in a fast-paced clinical environment.
The Physiotherapist will assess and treat patients, many of whom are older and may present with respiratory needs, while supporting effective discharge planning. The role involves working closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure timely interventions, promote recovery, and facilitate safe discharge from hospital.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out physiotherapy assessments within an acute hospital setting.
- Provide treatment and rehabilitation interventions for patients with a range of conditions.
- Support discharge planning to ensure safe and timely transitions from hospital.
- Work with patients who may present with respiratory needs alongside other conditions.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support coordinated patient care.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation in line with NHS standards.
- Manage workload effectively within a fast-paced environment.
About You
You will be a qualified Physiotherapist with experience working within acute NHS services. You will be confident managing patients in a fast-paced environment and supporting discharge planning processes.
Experience in respiratory physiotherapy will be beneficial, particularly when working with older patients, although this is not a specialist respiratory role.
Requirements
- Recognised qualification in Physiotherapy.
- Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
- Acute physiotherapy experience (essential).
- Respiratory physiotherapy experience desirable.
- Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced hospital environment.
- Strong communication and multidisciplinary teamwork skills.
