Tripod Partners are recruiting a Physiotherapist for a locum opportunity within a specialist healthcare service based at Campsfield Immigration Removal Centre (IRC) in Oxfordshire. This role involves delivering high-quality physiotherapy assessment, treatment, rehabilitation, and health promotion services within a secure custodial environment.

 

The successful candidate will work as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team, supporting residents with musculoskeletal, neurological, respiratory, mobility, and rehabilitation needs. The role offers a unique opportunity to provide patient-centred care while contributing to integrated healthcare pathways within a secure setting.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Undertake comprehensive physiotherapy assessments and develop individualised treatment plans.
  • Provide evidence-based physiotherapy interventions including exercise therapy, mobilisation techniques, rehabilitation programmes, and other appropriate treatments.
  • Manage a varied caseload of residents with musculoskeletal, neurological, respiratory, mobility, and rehabilitation needs.
  • Deliver both one-to-one and group-based physiotherapy programmes.
  • Promote health, wellbeing, and self-management strategies to improve functional outcomes.
  • Work collaboratively with healthcare professionals and multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated care.
  • Develop links with the IRC gym and substance misuse services to support holistic patient care.
  • Identify residents who may have unmet addiction needs related to opiate pain medication and support appropriate referrals.
  • Provide training and education to internal services, including self-management initiatives such as lower back pain programmes.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical records in accordance with professional and organisational standards.

 

About You

 

You will be an experienced Physiotherapist with strong assessment, rehabilitation, and clinical reasoning skills. You will be comfortable working independently while managing a varied caseload within a secure healthcare environment.

 

You will demonstrate a patient-centred approach, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams to support positive health outcomes.

 

Requirements

 

  • Recognised qualification in Physiotherapy.
  • Current HCPC registration.
  • Membership of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (desirable).
  • Experience managing musculoskeletal and rehabilitation caseloads.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritise workload effectively.
  • Strong communication and multidisciplinary team working skills.
  • Experience within community, secure, custodial, or NHS settings desirable.
  • Commitment to delivering safe, effective, and patient-centred care.
