Job Details: Experienced Occupational Therapist required for a Double Handed Care (Moving & Handling) project.

- Lead on reviewing residents currently receiving double-handed care packages
- Identify opportunities where single-handed care is feasible and safe
- Implement assistive technologies such as hoists, slide sheets and transfer aids
- Provide training to care staff on safe single-handed care techniques
- Monitor and evaluate outcomes to ensure quality, safety and service user satisfaction
- Support residents requiring increased care on discharge from hospital
- Work as part of a 12-month project within Occupational Therapy
- Contribute to training 8 core provider care coordinators/moving and handling risk assessors and 8 core provider agencies, with scope to extend to spot providers
Project Scope:

- Approximately 250 residents currently receiving double-handed care
- Focus on safe right-sizing of care packages and promoting independence
Skills/Experience Required:

- Extensive experience in moving and handling assessments
- Strong knowledge of single-handed care techniques and risk assessment
- Experience implementing assistive technology solutions
- Ability to deliver training and support to care providers
