Occupational Therapist – Band 7

Role Summary:

  • Lead the occupational therapy provision within the Adult Autism Service.

  • Manage and develop pre-diagnostic and brief post-diagnostic service provision.

  • Conduct specialist OT assessments addressing sensory needs, executive functioning, and daily living skills.

  • Provide pre- and post-diagnostic support, including interventions tailored to autistic adults.

  • Consult and liaise with other professionals working with autistic individuals.

  • Work as an integral member of a multi-disciplinary team.

Requirements & Experience:

  • Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy with current HCPC registration.

  • Understanding of communication challenges in autistic individuals; ability to adapt communication accordingly.

  • Qualification in sensory integration or equivalent experience; in-post training available.

  • Experience in various clinical OT settings, including working with complex mental health issues.

  • Knowledge of clinical risk assessment and management.

  • Strong organisational, time management, and prioritisation skills; able to work independently and innovatively.

  • Ability to work flexibly across multiple environments and travel efficiently within the area.

Working Hours: 09:00 – 17:00 (shifts).
