As an Occupational Therapist with Brighton and Hove City Council, working at Band 6 within reablement services, you will provide specialist assessment and intervention focused on moving and handling, equipment provision and environmental adaptations. Collaborating closely with service users, families, carers and multidisciplinary teams, you will develop and deliver personalised programmes aimed at promoting independence, safety and quality of life.

  • Conduct detailed assessments of moving and handling needs and equipment requirements.

  • Develop, implement and review tailored occupational therapy intervention plans centred on safe moving and handling techniques and adaptations.

  • Work collaboratively with service users, carers and professionals to coordinate effective care and ensure appropriate use of equipment.

  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive clinical records in line with council and professional standards.

  • Provide education, advice and training to support service users, carers and colleagues in moving and handling and equipment use.

  • Contribute to service development and quality improvement initiatives within the occupational therapy reablement team.
