Service: Postural Management and Wheelchair Services
Job Details:
- Band 6 Wheelchair Therapist required to support Postural Management and Wheelchair Services.
- Provide clinical input working closely with service users, families, carers and multidisciplinary teams.
- Carry out triage and comprehensive clinical assessments including mobility, posture and pressure care.
- Prescribe, review and set up wheelchair equipment with active service user involvement.
- Manage a clinical caseload effectively using recognised outcome measures.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and records.
- Undertake responsibilities related to medical device management.
- Follow safeguarding procedures when working with vulnerable individuals.
- Carry out physical and postural assessments which may include bending, kneeling and crouching.
- Handle wheelchairs and equipment as part of daily clinical activity.
Skills / Experience:
- HCPC registered Therapist (Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist).
- Experience in postural management and wheelchair services.
- Experience undertaking mobility and pressure care assessments.
- Ability to prescribe and review specialist wheelchair equipment.
- Experience working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
- ELMS2 experience for Wheelchair Services (desirable).
Working Hours: Monday to Friday between 08:00 – 16:30 (typically 08:30 start). Flexible on number of days worked.
