View JobEaling Council is seeking a skilled and motivated Social Worker to join the Child Protection & Assessment Team. This role is pivotal in carrying out statutory assessments and initial safeguarding work with children and families. The successful candidate will work within a fast-paced environment to assess risk, initiate interventions, and secure positive outcomes for children at risk of harm.
Key Responsibilities:

Undertake Section 17 (Children in Need) and Section 47 (Child Protection) assessments in line with statutory timescales.

Manage a duty rota and respond to referrals, undertaking initial visits and risk assessments.

Formulate safety plans and escalate cases to legal proceedings where thresholds are met.

Work closely with multi-agency partners including schools, health, police, and early help services.

Prepare and present reports for Initial Child Protection Conferences, strategy discussions, and court where required.
