View JobThe London Borough of Merton is seeking a dedicated and experienced Qualified Social Worker (QSW) to join our Children’s Services team. This is an exciting opportunity to work with vulnerable children and families within a diverse and supportive community. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety, wellbeing, and future of children in need of care and protection.
Key Responsibilities:

Child Protection & Safeguarding: Assess and manage cases involving children at risk of harm, ensuring comprehensive safeguarding measures are in place and that all interventions are in line with Merton’s child protection procedures.

Care Planning & Reviews: Develop and implement tailored care plans, ensuring timely reviews, and maintaining a child-focused approach to service delivery.

Collaborative Working: Liaise with schools, health professionals, and multi-agency teams to deliver coordinated and effective interventions for children and families.

Court Work & Legal Proceedings: Prepare detailed reports and represent the local authority in court proceedings, child protection conferences, and legal meetings to safeguard children’s welfare.

Case Management & Support: Carry a caseload of children and families, ensuring consistent, quality support through the assessment, planning, and delivery of services.

Professional Development & Supervision: Engage in regular supervision, reflective practice, and ongoing professional development to uphold high standards of practice and improve service delivery.
