View JobWe are looking for an experienced Qualified Social Worker to join Stoke-on-Trent City Council’s Child Protection Assessment Team on a 3-month locum contract. This role will involve undertaking timely assessments of children and families where there are safeguarding concerns, analysing risk, and putting in place effective protection plans. The successful candidate will have strong assessment and engagement skills, with the ability to work in partnership with families and multi-agency professionals to achieve positive outcomes for children.
Key Responsibilities:

Undertake Section 47 enquiries and initial child protection investigations in line with statutory guidance.

Complete detailed single assessments to identify needs, risks, and appropriate interventions.

Develop and implement child protection plans to safeguard and promote children’s welfare.

Work closely with families, carers, and partner agencies to provide coordinated support.

Prepare clear, concise, and evidence-based reports for case conferences and court proceedings.

Manage a varied and complex caseload, ensuring timely responses and compliance with legislative requirements.
