Act on behalf of Durham County Council to manage and lead complex cases involving Child Protection, Looked After Children, and care proceedings, ensuring statutory responsibilities are met to safeguard children and young people.

Provide professional guidance, mentoring, and informal supervision to less experienced social workers and students, supporting skill development and promoting best practice.

Undertake and oversee comprehensive assessments and outcome-focused care plans, ensuring that children’s voices are central to planning and decision-making.

Prepare, review, and quality-assure reports for court, case conferences, and statutory reviews, ensuring work is timely, analytical, and legally robust.

Coordinate and participate in multi-agency safeguarding interventions, building strong working relationships with partner agencies to support integrated service delivery.

Contribute to service improvement and quality assurance, engaging in case audits, reflective practice sessions, and policy implementation within Durham County Council’s Children’s Services.
