Qualified Social Worker – Children’s Services (Camden Council)

Job Overview

We are recruiting a committed **Qualified Social Worker (QSW)** to join **Camden Council’s Children’s Services team**. In this role, you will safeguard vulnerable children, support families, and ensure high-quality interventions that promote safety, wellbeing, and positive long-term outcomes.

You will manage a varied caseload, complete statutory assessments, and work in partnership with families, carers, and professionals to deliver the best possible support.

Key Responsibilities

Undertake statutory assessments under the Children Act to identify risks, strengths, and needs.

Develop, implement, and review care and protection plans that are child-focused.

Manage safeguarding and child protection cases in line with statutory guidance.

Prepare and present clear, evidence-based reports for child protection conferences, statutory reviews, and court proceedings.

Work directly with children, families, and carers to build positive and trusting relationships.

Collaborate with schools, health professionals, police, and voluntary sector organisations to provide joined-up support.

Ensure accurate, timely, and confidential recording of casework in line with legislation and council policies.

Participate in reflective supervision, peer learning, and service development initiatives.

About You

You are a resilient and motivated social worker with post-qualification experience in children’s services. You are confident in safeguarding practice, skilled at managing complex cases, and committed to improving the lives of children and families.

Requirements

Qualified Social Worker (QSW) with registration to **Social Work England**.

Experience working within Children’s Services, including safeguarding and child protection.

Strong knowledge of child protection legislation, statutory frameworks, and best practice.

Excellent assessment, communication, and report-writing skills.

Ability to manage a varied caseload effectively.
