Qualified Social Worker – Adults’ Services (Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council)

Job Overview

We are recruiting a committed **Qualified Social Worker (QSW)** to join **Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council’s Adults’ Services team**. This role focuses on supporting adults with a wide range of care and support needs, safeguarding vulnerable individuals, and promoting independence and wellbeing.

You will manage complex caseloads, complete statutory assessments, and work with families, carers, and partner agencies to deliver safe and person-centred outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Undertake Care Act 2014 assessments to identify needs, risks, and strengths.

Develop, implement, and review personalised care and support plans.

Lead safeguarding enquiries and ensure robust risk management processes are in place.

Carry out Mental Capacity Act assessments and contribute to best-interest decisions.

Prepare and present clear, evidence-based reports for panels, reviews, and legal proceedings.

Work collaboratively with health professionals, housing services, voluntary sector, and community partners to deliver integrated care.

Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential case records in line with professional standards and council policy.

Contribute to reflective supervision, peer learning, and continuous service development.

About You

You are a compassionate and resilient social worker with experience in adults’ services. You have strong safeguarding knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to make sound professional decisions while ensuring individuals’ dignity and independence are prioritised.

Requirements

Qualified Social Worker (QSW) with registration to **Social Work England**.

Post-qualification experience within Adults’ Services, including safeguarding and complex case management.

Strong knowledge of the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act, and adult safeguarding procedures.

Excellent assessment, communication, and report-writing skills.

Ability to balance competing demands while maintaining a person-centred approach.
