Qualified Social Worker – Adults’ Services (Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council)

Job Overview

We are recruiting a committed **Qualified Social Worker (QSW)** to join **Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council’s Adults’ Services team**. This role focuses on supporting adults with diverse care and support needs, safeguarding vulnerable individuals, and promoting independence and wellbeing in the community.

You will manage a varied caseload, carry out statutory assessments, and work collaboratively with families, carers, and partner agencies to deliver safe, person-centred care.

Key Responsibilities

Undertake Care Act 2014 assessments to identify needs, strengths, and risks.

Develop, implement, and review personalised care and support plans.

Lead safeguarding enquiries and ensure robust risk management is in place.

Carry out Mental Capacity Act assessments and contribute to best-interest decisions.

Prepare clear, evidence-based reports for panels, reviews, and legal proceedings.

Work effectively with health services, housing, voluntary organisations, and community partners to deliver joined-up support.

Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential records in line with legislation and council policies.

Contribute to reflective supervision, peer learning, and continuous service development.

About You

You are a motivated and compassionate social worker with experience in adults’ services. You can manage complex caseloads while keeping the focus on delivering positive outcomes for individuals and their families.

Requirements

Qualified Social Worker (QSW) with registration to **Social Work England**.

Experience in Adults’ Services, including safeguarding and complex case management.

Strong knowledge of the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act, and adult safeguarding frameworks.

Excellent communication, assessment, and report-writing skills.

Ability to manage demanding workloads while maintaining a person-centred approach.
