About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Adult Social Worker to join a Local Authority team on a 3-month interim basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled practitioner to contribute to high-quality adult social care practice, supporting individuals to live independently, safely, and with dignity within their communities.
As a Social Worker in the Adults Services team, you will undertake assessments, coordinate support plans, and work collaboratively with service users, carers, and partner agencies to promote wellbeing, independence, and choice. You’ll use your professional expertise to deliver outcomes that align with the principles of the Care Act 2014 and person-centred practice.
Main Responsibilities
- Carry out comprehensive, person-centred assessments of adults with care and support needs in line with statutory duties.
- Develop and review Care and Support Plans that promote independence, wellbeing, and inclusion.
- Undertake safeguarding enquiries under Section 42 of the Care Act 2014, ensuring risk is appropriately managed and reduced.
- Work collaboratively with individuals, families, carers, and multidisciplinary teams to achieve positive outcomes.
- Provide professional advice and guidance to service users regarding available resources, services, and community support options.
- Promote personalisation and self-directed support, ensuring individuals have choice and control over their care.
- Maintain accurate case records and documentation in line with professional standards and local policies.
- Contribute to team discussions, reflective supervision, and ongoing service improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- Essential qualification: Degree in Social Work (DipSW, CQSW, CSS, or equivalent).
- Registration: Registered with Social Work England.
- Proven experience in adult social care, including assessment, safeguarding, and care planning.
- In-depth knowledge of the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act, and related legislation.
- Excellent assessment, communication, and report-writing skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to person-centred, strengths-based, and outcome-focused practice.
Why Join?
This is a great opportunity to join a supportive and professional Local Authority team that values high-quality practice, professional development, and a culture of collaboration. You’ll have the chance to apply your expertise to make a meaningful difference in the lives of adults and their carers, ensuring individuals are empowered to live fulfilling and independent lives.
Interested? Apply today to join the Local Authority’s Adults Services team as a Social Worker and help deliver compassionate, person-centred support to adults in need of care and protection.
