About the Role
Cheshire East Council is seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to support the Community Adult Teams on a locum basis, providing cover for a secondment. This role focuses on delivering high-quality occupational therapy assessments and interventions within adult social care, with particular emphasis on moving and handling.
Main Responsibilities
- Undertake occupational therapy assessments for adults in the community.
- Complete moving and handling assessments to promote safe practice and independence.
- Recommend appropriate equipment and interventions in line with assessed needs.
- Work collaboratively with service users, carers and multidisciplinary professionals.
- Maintain accurate case records in line with local authority and professional standards.
- Support the Community Adult Teams to ensure timely and effective service delivery.
Skills & Experience Required
- Degree in Occupational Therapy and HCPC registration.
- Experience working within adult social care.
- Proven experience in moving and handling assessments.
- Strong assessment, clinical reasoning and communication skills.
- Ability to work autonomously and manage a community-based caseload.
