This leadership role is ideal for an experienced Senior Social Worker looking to further develop their supervisory skills while supporting frontline practitioners within a fast-paced Early Help and Front Door service. You will provide supervision to 2–3 Family Support Practitioners (FSPs), support daily duty functions and contribute to effective decision-making for children and families at the point of referral.

  • Complete and oversee Human Rights Assessments to determine ongoing Section 17 eligibility where families have exhausted appeal rights.

  • Apply safeguarding thresholds when progressing contacts through the Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH).

  • Provide consultation and advice to practitioners and partner agencies on complex cases.

  • Develop strong working relationships with Housing Services and Children’s Services, attending daily multi-agency meetings to discuss residents and case progression.

  • Undertake case consultations with colleagues across the service to support effective decision-making.

  • Support the learning and development of frontline practitioners, students and volunteers.

  • Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with statutory guidance and local procedures.

About You

You will be an experienced Senior Social Worker with excellent knowledge of Children’s Services thresholds and frontline safeguarding practice. You will be confident supervising staff, making complex decisions under pressure and working collaboratively across agencies to improve outcomes for children and families.

Requirements

  • Qualified Social Worker with current Social Work England registration.

  • Minimum of 3 years’ post-qualified experience within Children’s Social Care.
