Job Overview
We are recruiting an experienced **Advanced Practitioner (Qualified Social Worker)** to join **Bradford Metropolitan District Council’s Adults’ Services team**. This role combines advanced practice with leadership responsibilities, ensuring vulnerable adults are safeguarded, supported, and empowered to live independently wherever possible.
As an Advanced Practitioner, you will manage complex casework, mentor colleagues, and contribute to service improvement and quality assurance within Adults’ Services.
Key Responsibilities
Lead on complex adult social care cases, including safeguarding enquiries and Mental Capacity Act assessments.
Provide supervision, mentoring, and reflective practice support to social workers and support staff.
Undertake Care Act 2014 assessments to identify needs, strengths, and risks.
Develop, implement, and review person-centred care and support plans.
Carry out best-interest assessments and contribute to legal proceedings where required.
Prepare and present clear, evidence-based reports for panels, reviews, and court hearings.
Work collaboratively with health, housing, voluntary organisations, and community partners to deliver integrated support.
Ensure compliance with the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act, and adult safeguarding legislation.
Support audits, quality assurance processes, and continuous service development initiatives.
About You
You are a confident and resilient social worker with significant post-qualification experience in adults’ services. You are skilled in managing complex safeguarding cases while providing professional leadership and support to colleagues.
Requirements
Qualified Social Worker (QSW) with registration to **Social Work England**.
Extensive post-qualification experience within Adults’ Services, including safeguarding and complex case management.
In-depth knowledge of the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act, and safeguarding frameworks.
Proven ability to supervise, mentor, or support colleagues in practice.
Excellent communication, assessment, and report-writing skills.
Ability to manage advanced practice responsibilities alongside complex caseloads.
