Job Overview
We are recruiting an experienced **Advanced Practitioner (Qualified Social Worker)** to join **Bradford Metropolitan District Council’s Adults’ Services team**. This senior role combines complex casework with professional leadership, ensuring that adults are safeguarded, supported, and enabled to live independently wherever possible.
As an Advanced Practitioner, you will manage high-risk cases, provide professional guidance to colleagues, and contribute to service development and quality assurance across Adults’ Services.
Key Responsibilities
Lead on complex adult social care cases, including safeguarding enquiries and Mental Capacity Act assessments.
Provide professional supervision, mentoring, and reflective support to social workers and support staff.
Develop, implement, and review personalised care and support plans that promote independence and wellbeing.
Undertake best-interest decisions and contribute to legal proceedings where required.
Prepare and present clear, evidence-based reports for panels, reviews, and court.
Work collaboratively with health services, housing, voluntary organisations, and community partners to deliver integrated support.
Ensure compliance with the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act, and adult safeguarding legislation.
Support audits, quality assurance, and continuous service development initiatives.
About You
You are a confident and resilient social worker with substantial post-qualification experience in adults’ services. Skilled in managing complex safeguarding cases, you are also able to mentor and guide colleagues to promote reflective practice and high professional standards.
Requirements
Qualified Social Worker (QSW) with registration to **Social Work England**.
Extensive post-qualification experience in Adults’ Services, including safeguarding and complex case management.
Strong knowledge of the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act, and adult safeguarding frameworks.
Proven experience of supervising, mentoring, or supporting colleagues.
Excellent assessment, communication, and report-writing skills.
Ability to balance leadership responsibilities with complex caseloads.
