Job Overview
We are recruiting an experienced **Advanced Practitioner (Qualified Social Worker)** to join **Bradford Metropolitan District Council’s Adults’ Services team**. This senior role combines advanced casework with professional leadership, ensuring adults are safeguarded, empowered, and supported to live independently wherever possible.
As an Advanced Practitioner, you will manage complex cases, provide professional supervision, and contribute to service development and quality assurance within Adults’ Services.
Key Responsibilities
Lead on complex adult social care cases, including safeguarding enquiries and Mental Capacity Act assessments.
Provide professional supervision, mentoring, and reflective practice support to social workers and support staff.
Develop, implement, and review person-centred care and support plans that promote wellbeing and independence.
Undertake best-interest decisions and contribute to court proceedings where required.
Prepare clear, evidence-based reports for panels, reviews, and statutory meetings.
Work collaboratively with health professionals, housing, voluntary organisations, and community services to deliver integrated care.
Ensure compliance with the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act, and adult safeguarding legislation.
Support continuous service development, audits, and quality assurance processes within Adults’ Services.
About You
You are a confident and skilled social worker with substantial post-qualification experience in adults’ social care. You are resilient in managing complex safeguarding cases and committed to mentoring colleagues, driving high standards, and delivering safe, person-centred outcomes.
Requirements
Qualified Social Worker (QSW) with registration to **Social Work England**.
Extensive post-qualification experience in Adults’ Services, including safeguarding and complex casework.
Strong knowledge of the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act, and adult safeguarding frameworks.
Demonstrable experience of mentoring, supervising, or leading colleagues.
Excellent communication, assessment, and report-writing skills.
Ability to balance a demanding caseload with leadership responsibilities.
