Lead on complex and high-risk cases across Bedford Borough Council’s Children’s Services, including safeguarding investigations, court proceedings, and permanency planning.
Provide professional leadership, mentoring, and practice support to social workers and newly qualified staff, fostering a culture of reflection, learning, and high standards.
Complete detailed assessments under the Children Act 1989, ensuring that all interventions are timely, child-focused, and informed by evidence and best practice.
Prepare, review, and quality-assure court reports, child protection plans, and care plans to support effective decision-making and positive outcomes for children.
Act as a key link in multi-agency work, facilitating collaboration across services including education, health, and police to deliver coordinated safeguarding responses.
Support service development through audits, quality assurance activity, and participation in practice improvement initiatives.
