Introduction:
Bedford Borough Council is seeking a dedicated and skilled Child Protection Social Worker to join our Safeguarding team. You will be at the forefront of protecting vulnerable children and young people, delivering statutory social work interventions to improve outcomes and ensure their safety. We are committed to supporting practitioners through strong supervision, manageable caseloads, and continuous professional development.
Key Responsibilities:
Carry out statutory assessments and investigations under the Children Act 1989, including Section 47 child protection enquiries.
Develop, implement, and review child protection and care plans, working in partnership with families and multi-agency teams.
Prepare clear and concise reports for Child Protection Conferences, Looked After Reviews, and Court proceedings.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records, adhering to legislative and policy frameworks and Bedford Borough’s practice standards.
