- Identify risks, strengths, and support needs to inform appropriate plans and interventions.
- Work collaboratively with families, carers, and multi-agency partners to develop and implement child-focused plans that achieve positive change.
- Prepare and present clear, evidence-based reports for child protection conferences, Looked After Reviews, and court proceedings.
- Ensure all interventions prioritise the safety, wellbeing, and voice of the child.
- Provide professional advice and guidance to colleagues and partner agencies as required.
- Support reflective supervision, mentoring, and the development of best practice within the team.
- Maintain accurate and timely case recordings in line with local policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Essential qualification: Degree in Social Work (DipSW, CQSW, CSS, or equivalent).
- Registration: Registered with Social Work England.
- Substantial post-qualifying experience within children’s social care, ideally in assessment or safeguarding teams.
- Strong knowledge of child protection legislation, statutory guidance, and social work best practice.
- Excellent assessment, analytical, and report-writing skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining a high standard of professional practice.
- Commitment to partnership working and a child-centred approach.
