  • The Acute Inpatient Service provides inpatient care, assessment and interventions to service users suffering from enduring mental health needs to enable increased independence and successful reintegration back into the community or further rehab services. 
  • To provide Acute Inpatient based services that enable people to define, build and live a meaningful, independent and satisfying life.
  • The post holder will work in a way that promotes positive partnership working between all members of the Acute Inpatient service and its partners.  They will have an excellent understanding of the principles of assessment and recovery and will practice clinically in a way that promotes therapeutic optimism and hope with service users.
  • The post holder will participate as directed by the Band 7 Occupational therapy lead and other senior colleagues in the operational functioning of the Acute Inpatient Team. 
  • The post holder will key work a defined caseload of service users.  This will involve conducting clinical assessments that assess service users’ holistic needs including risk in accordance with the R&R care pathway.  They will provide and coordinate highly skilled nursing and psychosocial interventions (including group work) and share skills with other team members, through training and supervision.
  • The service encourages the use of the wisdom gained through personal ‘lived’ experience, to inspire hope in others and the belief that recovery is possible for all. Within a relationship of mutuality the peer support model can be used to facilitate and support information sharing to promote choice, selfdetermination and opportunities for the fulfilment of socially valued roles with connection to local communities.
