To develop and provide a quality needs led Occupational Therapy service as part of the multi-disciplinary team for Highfield Unit.
To provide an Occupational Therapy assessment, treatment, and evaluation process for referred patients in collaboration with professional colleagues and clinical services, in order to enable continuity of care.
To take a leading role in the development of Occupational Therapy services or specialist programmes for young people with mental health problems.
The post will be delivered flexibly Monday to Sunday with some evening and weekend work included.
Skills/experience:
Knowledge in using MOHO and/or MoCA assessments i.e COSA, ACIS, Creative Participation Tool and writing reports based on these assessments.
Knowledge of creating and implementing sensory schedules and/or sensory diets with people (ideally young people).
The ability to explore sensory preferences with young people.
To facilitate / co-facilitate groups with a range of different young people i.e eating disorders, emotional dysregulated, ASD.
Complete functional assessments i.e. cooking assessments, community assessments.
Good communication skills with young people, families and other professionals.
Have a very good understanding of risk assessing and risk management.
Previous experience of leading OTA’s or junior staff would be preferable.
