• To provide a Speech and Language Therapy service as part of Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS services to Adults and Children.
• The SLT services support a variety of speech, language, and communication and/or dysphagia needs, covering community, inpatient and specialist settings across the city and county for children, young people and adults with physical, mental health needs or developmental conditions/delay including Intellectual Disability and Developmental Language Disorder.
• The SLT services also include preventative information and guidance, working to empower parents, carers, other professionals, and agencies to support speech, language, and communication skills as well as eating and drinking.
• SLTs provide individual assessment, individual and group therapy and management, training, advice, and liaison through a consultative and coaching approaches, as appropriate.
• SLTs work as part of the wider multi- disciplinary team providing a high quality, effective, accessible, person and family- centred services through tailored packages of care, training and mentoring in the most appropriate setting, including the client’s home.

Skills/experience: appropriate SLT Degree plus RCSLT. HCPC registration. Working hours: up to 22.5 hours per week.

Job Details:  Experienced Occupational Therapist required - Adults or Children's experience is suitable. Main role is Assessing and recommending school adaptations for disabled children in schools e.g. wheel chair ramps etc. JD available on request: To be responsible for the occupational therapy assessment of individual needs and the initiation and coordination of a range of outcomes to meet them, promoting the principles of choice and control, personalisation and self-directed support to ensure that service users can assess and manage their own needs, risks and uncertainties. Key Responsibilities:

• Be responsible for the occupational therapy assessment, support planning and review of complex individual needs and then initiate and co ordinate a range of outcomes to meet them.
• Maintain a complex caseload commissioning services within available resources.
• Following appropriate training undertake assessments using a range of health and social care tools, for example, moving and handling assessments, specialist occupational therapy assessments, moving and handling assessments, Best Interests Assessments.
• Be responsible for the identification of potential reablement opportunities and provide access to those services as required.
• Provide professional detailed information, advice and support to service users and their carers.
