Job details: Paediatric Social Services position. Major Adapts and Equipment in the community. All visits must be face to face, but write-ups can be completed at home. 1 day in the office ideally. 3-month contract to cover maternity leave. Will consider experienced adults OTs. Part time considered, but must be submitted in pairs.
• To provide high quality evidence based and person-centred Occupational Therapy service to adults with mental health problems living in the community.
• To provide expert advice to the Community Mental Health Team on Occupational Therapy issues and to raise the profile of Occupational Therapy approaches to care within the Team.
• To work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team, to assess and treat people with mental health support needs and their carers.
• To manage difficult clinical situations and advise occupational therapy colleagues on working with Service Users with emotional and behavioural needs. The post holder may initiate group activities within the community as necessary.
• To develop and maintain links with relevant statutory and non-statutory agencies with particular reference to day care services, user led initiatives, voluntary bodies and work, training and education services.

Job details: Car driver is essential as referrals are county wide. The applicant would be based in office at Townsend as there are limited remote working packages.
• To have a degree/diploma in Occupational Therapy, HPC Registration and experience of working with Older Persons
• To work as an integral member of the multi-disciplinary team for Bedford Older Peoples community mental health team, supporting the team to deliver and develop functional and organic services.
• The OT will provide specialist bio-psycho-social assessments and interventions to clients referred to the CMHT/Memory Assessment Service
• To provide expert advice to the Community Mental Health Team on Occupational Therapy issues and to raise the profile of Occupational Therapy approaches to care within the Team.
• To manage a caseload that reflects the need for specialist O.T skills. This may include supporting care coordinators in evidencing the need for social care packages.
• To develop and facilitate, therapeutic group activities within the community, according to the needs of clients and service.
• To work in collaboration with the Head OT in the development of clinical and professional practice and support the implementation of research, evidence-based practice, quality standards and audit within the OT service / MDT.
• The post holder will provide leadership, advice and support and clinical supervision to the OT team.
• To develop and maintain links with relevant, statutory, and non-statutory agencies with particular reference to day care services, user led initiatives, voluntary bodies and Primary Care Providers
Working hours: Full time preferred but would consider part time.
Job details: Intermediate Care Service. To cover vacancy. OT required for community based service. Possible care home work so full COVID vaccination required.
Job details: Adaptations team. Remote working but needs to be able to be local enough for visits where assessments can be done by telephone, which can all be done 1 day per week and the rest of the days can be worked from home. Some weeks won’t have any. Working hours: 37 hours per week. 09.00 – 17.00.
Job details: OT required to support the Community Occupational Therapy service in South Bedfordshire. All referrals are for clients that are aligned to South Bedfordshire GPs within Bedfordshire. The post holder will visit clients in their home, residential/nursing homes or within the rehabilitation bedded units. Having completed a full holistic assessment of the clients needs, the post holder will then complete the following:
- Advice of the next steps, which will include:
- Ordering and assessing for and with the appropriate equipment that will support the client or carers
- Demonstrate appropriate equipment to relevant care agencies.
- Seek advice from senior staff and appropriate services as required.
- Complete the appropriate onward referrals to other relevant services.
- Provide guidance and support to junior staff members as required.
- Support hospital discharges when demand requires senior support
- Support the rehab bedded units as required.
- Review case as appropriate and within a timely manner.
It is an expectation that the post holder will hold a caseload of 20-25 cases. Working hours: Full time preferred, but part time can be discussed
