Brief Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated MSK Physiotherapist (Band 6) to join the Berkshire Healthcare NHS Trust on a locum basis. You will be working across key hospital sites including St Marks Hospital (Maidenhead), Churchill House (Bracknell), and Upton Hospital (Slough).
This role focuses on delivering high-quality musculoskeletal (MSK) physiotherapy assessments and treatment interventions to a varied caseload of patients presenting with acute and chronic conditions. You will work as part of a dynamic multi-disciplinary team to promote recovery, rehabilitation, and independence.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialist MSK physiotherapy assessment, diagnosis, and treatment to patients with a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions.
- Formulate individualised treatment plans based on clinical findings and evidence-based practice.
- Deliver a variety of interventions including manual therapy, exercise prescription, and education.
- Manage a mixed caseload of acute and chronic MSK patients, including post-operative rehabilitation.
- Work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team (MDT) to support patient-centred care and goal achievement.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and comprehensive patient records in line with NHS and professional standards.
- Contribute to clinical supervision, peer review, and service development initiatives.
- Provide professional support and guidance to junior staff, students, and support workers as required.
About You
You are a confident and autonomous Physiotherapist with a proven background in musculoskeletal physiotherapy. You are passionate about helping patients regain function and quality of life through evidence-based assessment and intervention.
Your clinical reasoning, communication, and time management skills will enable you to manage your caseload effectively and deliver the highest standards of patient care within a busy NHS setting.
Requirements
- BSc (Hons) or Diploma in Physiotherapy.
- HCPC registration as a Physiotherapist.
- Minimum of 3 years post-qualification MSK experience (UK-based experience is essential).
- Previous experience within an NHS MSK outpatient or hospital setting is desirable.
- Excellent manual therapy, exercise prescription, and rehabilitation skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient-centred approach.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Good IT and record-keeping skills, familiar with NHS systems and documentation standards.

- Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week
- Days: Monday – Friday
- Contract: Ongoing locum position
