Job details:  Neuro Rehab Ward. JD available on request:
- To be an active member of the neuro rehabilitation multidisciplinary clinical team, providing a comprehensive Physiotherapy service to patients admitted on Robertson neuro rehabilitation ward
- To work within professional standards and clinical guidelines, promote best practice and to undertake all aspects of clinical duties as an autonomous practitioner including assessing and treating own & multi-disciplinary caseload of patients/clients and maintaining professional documentation.
- To perform neuro physiotherapy assessments and treatment of patients who require specialist neuro rehabilitation on the rehabilitation pathway to develop and deliver an individualised treatment program.
- To work as part of a multidisciplinary team to facilitate positive rehab outcomes and timely, co-ordinated discharge planning from Robertson neuro rehabilitation ward
- To fully support initiatives to reduce length of stay, including key working and ensure high standards of physiotherapy practice on the unit
- To work flexibly, being willing to provide support across sites when necessary.
- To hold responsibility for own caseload, working with and without direct supervision from seniors.
- Provide support for the clinical supervision for a rotational Band 5 physiotherapist, student physiotherapists, rehabilitation assistant and give direction to all multi-disciplinary team members best on the knowledge and skills.
- To undertake evidence-based audit and research projects to inform own and neuro physiotherapy practice within the unit.
- Support self and service development through active participation in Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and by participating in any audit or research being undertaken by the service.
Skills/experience: Neuro experience, cognitive, ULS and LLS rehab. Inpatient or ward based rehab experience
Discharge planning, MDT working experience, FES, spasticity management, Equipment prescription and assessment. Running groups.
Working hours: 0.5 WTE. Monday to Friday.
