Brief Job Overview
Tripod Partners are recruiting an Occupational Therapist – Band 6 or 7 for a locum role within Cambridgeshire NHS. This position sits within the Community Rehabilitation Service, supporting older people within their own homes through rehabilitation and reablement interventions.
The Occupational Therapist will carry out community-based assessments and interventions, focusing on promoting independence, improving functional outcomes, and supporting safe living through equipment provision, moving and handling interventions, and minor adaptations.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess and manage older people within their own homes.
- Deliver rehabilitation and reablement interventions within community settings.
- Carry out moving and handling assessments and interventions.
- Assess and prescribe equipment to support independence and safety.
- Recommend and support minor adaptations where appropriate.
- Manage a community caseload and complete daily visits.
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and community services.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in line with NHS standards.
About You
You will be an experienced Occupational Therapist with a strong background in
community rehabilitation and reablement services. You will demonstrate strong clinical
reasoning skills and the ability to manage a caseload independently within community settings.
You will be confident supporting older adults through rehabilitation and promoting independence using a
person-centred approach.
Requirements
- Recognised qualification in Occupational Therapy.
- Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
- Experience within community rehabilitation or reablement services.
- Moving and handling experience (essential).
- Experience with equipment prescription and minor adaptations.
- Ability to work independently within community settings.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (essential).
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
