MSK Physiotherapist – Band 6

Brief Job Overview

Tripod Partners are recruiting an experienced Band 6 MSK Physiotherapist for a locum opportunity with Hywel Dda, based at Withybush General Hospital. Working within South West Wales NHS, the successful candidate will provide specialist Physiotherapy assessment and treatment across a varied MSK caseload.

The role is offered for an initial six-month period and will involve the assessment and management of a range of musculoskeletal presentations, including soft tissue injuries, post-fracture and post-surgical rehabilitation, chronic conditions, and sports injuries.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide specialist MSK Physiotherapy assessment and treatment.
• Manage a varied caseload of patients presenting with musculoskeletal conditions.
• Assess and treat soft tissue injuries using appropriate evidence-based Physiotherapy interventions.
• Provide rehabilitation following fractures and surgical interventions.
• Assess and manage patients with chronic musculoskeletal conditions.
• Assess and treat sports-related injuries.
• Develop individualised treatment and rehabilitation plans based on clinical assessment and patient needs.
• Use appropriate clinical reasoning to inform assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation decisions.
• Monitor patient progress and adapt treatment plans where appropriate.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues and the wider multidisciplinary team.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in line with professional and service requirements.

About You

You will be an experienced Band 6 MSK Physiotherapist with strong clinical assessment and treatment skills. You will be confident managing a broad MSK caseload and providing appropriate rehabilitation for patients with acute injuries, post-operative presentations, chronic conditions, and sports injuries.

Requirements

• Relevant Physiotherapy qualification.
• Current HCPC registration.
• Band 6 or equivalent MSK Physiotherapy experience.
• Strong experience managing musculoskeletal conditions.
• Experience treating soft tissue injuries.
• Experience with post-fracture and post-surgical rehabilitation.
• Experience managing chronic musculoskeletal conditions.
• Experience treating sports injuries.
• Strong clinical assessment and reasoning skills.
• Ability to develop and deliver appropriate rehabilitation programmes.
• Excellent communication and multidisciplinary working skills.
