Tripod Partners are recruiting for an experienced Occupational Therapist to join the Case Management Team within Adult Social Care at the London Borough of Lambeth. This locum opportunity is suited to an Occupational Therapist with experience in functional assessments, moving and handling risk assessments, equipment provision and housing adaptations.

You will support adults to meet their functional needs through appropriate assessment and intervention, providing recommendations for major adaptations, specialist seating, transfer aids and other equipment to support safety and independence.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out moving and handling assessments, including manual handling risk assessments, and recommend appropriate interventions.
• Assess individuals’ functional needs and identify suitable equipment and support solutions.
• Make recommendations for major adaptations to improve accessibility and support independent living.
• Conduct seating assessments and recommend appropriate specialist seating where required.
• Assess for and arrange appropriate functional equipment, including beds, transfer aids and specialist seating.
• Complete housing needs assessments to identify requirements relating to accessibility and daily living.
• Work within the Adult Social Care Case Management Team to support the delivery of appropriate occupational therapy interventions.
• Provide professional recommendations based on individual needs and functional assessments.

About You

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Occupational Therapist who can confidently assess adults with a range of functional and housing needs. You will have practical experience of moving and handling assessments, equipment provision, seating assessments and major adaptations.

You will be able to identify appropriate interventions and make clear, person-centred recommendations that support safety, accessibility and independence. Strong assessment, communication and organisational skills will be important in managing the varied responsibilities of this role.

Requirements

• Qualified Occupational Therapist with relevant professional experience.
• Experience working within Adult Social Care is required.
• Experience carrying out moving and handling and manual handling risk assessments.
• Knowledge and experience of recommending major adaptations.
• Experience conducting seating assessments.
• Experience assessing for functional equipment, including beds, transfer aids and specialist seating.
• Experience completing housing needs assessments.
• Ability to make appropriate recommendations based on individual functional needs.
