Job Overview
Tripod Partners are currently recruiting for an experienced Rehab Assistant – Band 3 to join the Intensive Rehab Service at NELFT. This is an ongoing locum opportunity based at Grays Court Community Hospital and Goodmayes Hospital, supporting patients across a community rehabilitation setting.
The successful Rehab Assistant will follow treatment plans delegated by Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists, completing approximately six home visits per day. You will support patients within their own homes, helping them work towards their rehabilitation goals while maintaining high standards of patient care and documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Follow and deliver treatment plans delegated by designated Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists.
- Complete approximately six patient home visits per day as part of the Intensive Rehab Service.
- Travel confidently between patient visits and provide rehabilitation support within patients’ own homes.
- Support patients to achieve their rehabilitation goals and maximise independence.
- Work collaboratively with Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and the wider multidisciplinary team.
- Recognise and report any changes in a patient’s condition or progress to the appropriate clinician.
- Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation in line with NHS policies, procedures and professional standards.
- Start the working day in the office before completing visits within the community.
- Work in an agile manner when completing community visits and finish the working day with patients as required.
- Work flexibly to meet the needs of the service and discuss working patterns with management prior to starting.
About You
We are looking for a confident and motivated Rehabilitation Assistant with post-qualification experience and previous NHS experience. Community rehabilitation experience would be particularly advantageous, as the role involves regular home visits and supporting patients within their own environments.
You will be comfortable travelling independently, managing a busy schedule of community visits and working closely with Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and other members of the multidisciplinary team.
Requirements
- Relevant post-qualification experience as a Rehabilitation Assistant.
- Previous experience working within an NHS setting.
- Experience within a community or rehabilitation setting is preferred.
- Confident treating and supporting patients within their own homes.
- Ability to follow treatment plans delegated by Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain accurate clinical documentation in line with policies and standards.
- Car driver preferred due to the community-based nature of the role.
- Candidates with a Physiotherapy or Occupational Therapy background who are looking to gain further NHS experience may also be considered.
- Flexibility to work within the service’s operating hours, currently between 08:00 and 18:00.
