Rehab Assistant – Band 3

 

Job Overview

 

Tripod Partners are currently recruiting for a Rehab Assistant – Band 3 to join the Intensive Rehab & Therapy Service at NELFT. This is an ongoing locum opportunity based across Grays Court Community Hospital and Goodmayes Hospital, with a strong community rehabilitation focus.

 

The successful Rehab Assistant will support patients in their own homes by delivering treatment plans delegated by Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists. You will undertake approximately six home visits per day, helping patients work towards their rehabilitation goals and maximise their independence within their own environment.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Follow and deliver treatment plans delegated by designated Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists.
  • Complete approximately six home visits per day as part of the Intensive Rehab & Therapy Service.
  • Support patients with rehabilitation programmes within their own homes and community environments.
  • Assist patients to achieve agreed rehabilitation goals and promote independence.
  • Provide appropriate support and encouragement throughout the rehabilitation process.
  • Work closely with Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and the wider multidisciplinary team.
  • Report any changes in a patient’s condition, presentation or progress to the appropriate clinician.
  • Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation in line with NHS policies, procedures and professional standards.
  • Travel confidently between patient visits and work effectively within a community setting.

 

About You

 

We are looking for a confident and motivated Rehabilitation Assistant with post-qualification experience and previous NHS experience. Community rehabilitation experience would be particularly advantageous, as the role involves regular home visits and supporting patients within their own environments.

 

You will be comfortable working both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team, with the ability to follow delegated treatment plans and maintain high standards of patient care and documentation.

 

Requirements

 

  • Relevant post-qualification experience as a Rehabilitation Assistant.
  • Previous experience working within an NHS setting.
  • Experience within a community or rehabilitation setting is preferred.
  • Confident working with patients in their own homes and community environments.
  • Ability to follow treatment plans delegated by Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain accurate clinical documentation in line with policies and standards.
  • Car driver preferred due to the community-based nature of the role.
  • Candidates with a Physiotherapy or Occupational Therapy background who are looking to gain further NHS experience may also be considered.
